New Online Poker Rooms - Are they Poker Candy?

New online poker rooms pop up online as much as mushrooms. They appear so quickly that at times they disappear just as quickly and go un-noticed. Some have very few players offer very little to their clients and are impossible to get a game on with cancellations due to lack of players and the worst - very long wait times. Many new poker rooms seem to have clients in one set of countries only limiting play styles of opponents. There are benefits though to new rooms, especially those who are owned and funded by a trustworthy company.

Benefits of a new online poker room include:

· ‘Usually’ competition that’s a lot less fierce than poker rooms that have been around for a long time. These poker rooms CAN be gold mines.

· They offer great signup bonuses to try and drag in new customers giving you great value for money

· They have brilliant customer service as the want to keep you there and of course have less customers to deal with than the online giants - this does not apply to them all! Nor do all online giants provide lesser customer service.

With all this said it is usually more than beneficial to try out a new room. Many people are sceptical and don’t trust new poker rooms nor believe what benefits could be available. There is a simple way to ease your mind and that’s by making a minimum deposit to trial it OR having a little play on their play money tables. By doing this you can also test the stability of the software (is it pausing, crashing or operating perfectly as an example).

Finding new online poker rooms can be quite difficult if the company opening them has not marketed well. Let’s face it though, if you have not heard of the people involved in the operations and their marketing budget is about the same as the cost; of a loaf of bread it’s risky touching them anyway. I suggest you go to new sites via searching for new online poker rooms, seeing who these are driven by (There are some long standing networks in place) and also via referrals and links provided via people you know that have obviously good connections and name (As an example I would not want to advise you to play on a rip off site, you would hate me and my name would be tarnished!).

Being one of the initial players on a new online poker room can also help you become very well known. If you can mix up your play style and change gears when you are playing this again is another benefit as the other sites players will “think” they know how you play ;-)

On the other hand there are the most respected and trusted online rooms available that have a name for a reason. There are thousands and thousands of accounts on these rooms. These poker rooms are above board and have great reputations due to providing a long standing reputable service to consumers. They usually have professional representations and do everything by the book from marketing to tournament structure, payout and cash outs.

What I have written is a guide, a guide if you plan to find a new online poker room. Sticking with the larger, reputable online poker rooms is usually the best scenario – again, there are benefits of going across to a new one with all precautions taken as indicated above!

For the people who are really sceptical about playing online poker you could always try a long standing subscription service such as SpadeClub while you get used to it. The cost is flat (at the moment $12.50 a month) and the rewards are HUGE – you can win thousands of dollars on a site like this with no risk. CardPlayer Magazine backs it all the way so if its a subscription site with huge benefits you are after - this is definetly my suggestion above all!
