Poker Masterminds - Poker Mastermind 2 - Howard Lederer

I recently started looking into what makes a winning poker player. You would know this if you have been following my blogging and on air broadcasts. If you haven’t followed be sure to look at the blog post from last month “Winning Poker Players”. This research along with a quick mail message to a friend prompted me to write throughout the next twelve months about Poker Industry and Poker Player Masterminds.

The first Poker Mastermind I chose for Hot Aussie Chick Blogspot was Barry Shulman. I have decided after a lengthy think that The Professor; Howard Lederer is indeed a poker mastermind and is a must for my list. After careful research I decided to place him in this Mastermind category which should never be done in my opinion without serious consideration. Mastermind is not a title I would hand out too often! Howard Lederer is a mastermind of a player and also one in the poker industry. Here is the definition of Mastermind:

Genius: Someone who has exceptional intellectual ability and originality; Someone who creates new things; Plan and Direct.

Let me show you how Mr Lederer fits this title.

Lederer is known as "The Poker Professor" because of his demeanour, analytical style and long history of wins. He has accomplished a heck of a lot for himself and the poker industry on and off the felt. The Professor has made instructional poker videos (Secrets of No Limit Hold'em – One of them) and he runs the “Howard Lederer Poker Fantasy Camp”. Howard is also into television and film and is the co-host of “Poker Superstars" and "Learn from the Pros" for non other then the Fox Broadcasting Company.

Howard Lederer is highly involved with Fulltilt Poker a mastermind of a company in itself. In fact he is one of co-owners and CEOs of "Tiltware Inc" which is the company that owns and created Fulltilt Poker.For those that don't know Tiltware renamed itself to "Pocket Kings" and relocated to Ireland.

Lederer has won only two World Series of Poker Bracelets but is a force to be reckoned with on the felt non the less. He has also taken down the AUD$100,000.00 No Limit Hold’em Challenge, recognised as the world's most expensive tournament buy-in at the 2008 Aussie Millions Poker Championship. When it comes to poker and the poker industry; Howard Lederer has made headlines throughout this little poker world of ours year after year.
